A man has died and two paramedics have been airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the South Coast on Thursday (May 25).
Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway near Brou Lake Road at Bodalla, around 1:40pm, following reports of a crash involving a car and an ambulance.
The male driver in his 30’s who has not yet been formally identified died at the scene.
Two NSW Ambulance paramedics were airlifted to Canberra Hospital by the Toll Rescue Helicopter, with both reportedly in a stable condition.
The patient and family member on board the ambulance at the time were taken to Moruya Hospital for further assessment, with the patient believed to have suffered minor injuries.
The Princes Highway was closed at Bodalla for around an hour after the incident with no suitable diversions in place.
One lane of traffic was opened between 3:15pm-8:15pm on Thursday before both lanes of traffic re-opened.
Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene, with the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
