A wonderful start to Roger Federer's summer of tennis and Australian campaign winning the Hopman Cup in Perth.
Roger teamed up with Belinda Bencic to represent Switzerland. Roger won his match against Zverev in 3 after dropping the first set.
It's funny the amount of expectation we put on a player like Roger. He was a little slow to get moving in this match and he lost the first set.....the commentators were commenting that he wasn't at his best and I was thinking maybe he wasn't feeling well. However, in his interview at the end of the match Roger felt he played great from the get go! It's all about perspective isn't it.
Angelique Kerber from Germany won the girl's match which made it a live and exciting mixed doubles to decide which team won the Cup and the glory!
And so it was Switzerland. Roger and Martina Hingis last won it for their country 17 years ago...so how sweet it must have felt.
Can't wait to see more of Roger in the days to come!
