VALE Betty Cuthbert

She coud run like the wind and she did...at 2 olympic games - earning 4 gold medals.

As an 18 year old she was the star of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics winning 3 gold medals in the 100m, 200m & 4 x 400m relay.

She also carried the torch in the stadium for the Sydney Olympics with Raelene Boyle pushing her wheelchair.

Betty was diagnosed with MS over 30 years ago.

One of her most wonderful moments was being inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame.

She was 79 years old.
