EFTAG’s Next Exhibition supports “Re-Valuing”- “Mottainai”

Eurobodalla Fibre & Textile Artists’ Group (EFTAG) is once again hosting its annual members’ exhibition.

EFTAG Exhibition Coordinator, Mandy Hillson says “Our theme for this year is
inspired by the Japanese term ‘Mottainai’ or ‘Re-Value’. It’s about recognising the
intrinsic value of objects and using them fully or all the way to the end of their
lifespan – don’t be wasteful.” “Leave no grain of rice in your bowl; if a toy breaks,
repair it; and take good care of everything”

Mandy says that the Annual Exhibition is one of the means by which EFTAG
stimulates, inspires and supports its members to strive for excellence in their field of
textile and fibre practice. She says that members have been encouraged to
experiment and to take on board creative risk taking. “With that philosophy, this
year’s exhibition will present new works by our artist, in fresh and exciting ways” she

The Exhibition will be opened by Keiko Amenomori-Schmeisser, an internationally
recognised Japanese textile artist who lives in Australia.
