Surf Beach man flown to hospital

Emergency services were called to a property on Highlands Avenue, in Surf Beach yesterday, following reports of a truck crash.

Police have been told a man – believed to be in his late 30s – was loading a bobcat onto a trailer, which was connected to a small tip-truck.

The truck started rolling, and collided with a large pile of timber offcuts and stumps, pinning the man between the truck and the pile of timber.

Bystanders provided help until emergency services arrived.

The man was taken to Moruya Hospital before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Batemans Bay Highway Patrol attended and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident with the assistance of Safework NSW.
