Earthquake off Batemans Bay

An earthquake has been recorded off the coast of the Eurobodalla this morning.

At 7:44am on Tuesday, a 3.2 magnitude quake struck about 90km off the coast of Batemans Bay.

Geoscience Australia said the earthquake had a depth of about 10km and there is no threat of a tsunami.

It comes just a day after an earthquake shook Indonesia’s main island Java, killing more than 160 people, and damaging dozens of buildings.

The US Geological Survey said the magnitude 5.6 quake was centred in the Cianjur region in West Java province, about 75km southeast of the capital Jakarta, at a depth of 10km.
