Men jailed for pinching brand new Toyota

A man with a 42-page criminal record has reportedly been jailed for a minimum nine months for stealing a brand new car from a Far South Coast dealership.

28-year-old Stephen McCarron sentenced in Moruya Local Court, who was arrested after crashing the Toyota Camry into a police car on the town’s Main Street.

The Bay Post reports Magistrate Doug Dick told McCarron he was concerned he was beginning to get more comfortable in jail than he was in the community.

His co-accused, 32-year-old Trent Bond, has been given a non-parole period of six months.
