A Magistrate has rejected a request for a Tomakin man to be excused from attending court the next time his matter is listed.

Galambos was charged by the Federal Police after a raid on his home where they allegedly found mobile phones hidden in plumbing style piping in the backyard.

He is charged with obtaining data with intent to commit a computer offence and dishonestly obtaining personal financial information.

He’s accused of siphoning and laundering money after carrying out mobile phone text phishing scheme.

Magistrate Doug Dick told the lawyer the allegations were “serious” and he’s a local so he can come to court.

He’s still to enter pleas to the charges and bail has been continued.
