A raid at a Far South Coast petrol station has reportedly seen a new migrant to Australia end up in court.
Bega Local Court was told yesterday Bhupender Dabas only arrived in the country earlier this year and was busted in September with illegal vapes and tobacco products.
His lawyer entered a guilty plea but argued he was only holding the material temporarily in his car at the direction of his managers.
Bega District News reports the 28-year-old’s vehicle was one of two vehicles belonging to staff members at the site and “various loose-leaf tobacco products, illicit cigarette packs and vapes” were found in Dabas’s car.
He’s been given a 12-month community corrections order but escaped being convicted of the offence.
