Cyclone Debbie!

This massive cyclone is expected to make landfall around Midday.

It is 1000kms across!

Cyclone Yasi which hit in 2011 was only around 500....so the effect of this massive storm is expected to be furious.

It's going to really affect Bowen and Airlie Beach with people leaving these areas or bunkered up.

Even though it's still hours until Cyclone Debbie hits land she is already blowing 180kms winds at Airlie Beach!

We'll keep you updated as new information comes to hand.

In the meantime check out these amazing satellite images of the storm cell.
