88 Days & Counting!

Monday, 30 April 2012 20:55

olympics The countdown is on to the London Olympics! 88 days to go! I love the Olympic Games! Love seeing track & field events, gymnastics & other sports we don’t see on a regular basis! Was watching an quick interview with Usain Bolt over the weekend.  Funny thing that his name is Bolt, considering how amazingly fast the man is! Just speed on legs really! He just keeps getting faster & with the Olympics looming, I will wait restlessly to see what he can do time wise! He has done wonders to put an at times troubled nation like Jamaica on the map for good reasons. He earns a mint from endorsements, owns a restaurant and once tried to buy a motorcycle. The guy in the bike shop recognised him, then funnily refused to sell him one, saying that if he had an accident & hurt those precious legs, the whole world would blame him & hunt him down! :-). I just finished reading a novel by James Patterson. It was about the Olympics in London and to say the least it was quite disturbing! I am really hoping, along with everyone else who is good in this world, that everything will run smoothly & safely! Check out Usain in action! Dim lights Embed Embed this video on your site

Thai Buddhist Monks In Hot Water!

Thai Buddhist Monks In Hot Water!

A YouTube video has emerged of Thai Buddhist Monks living it up! Wearing cool aviator sunnies, carrying luxury travel bags and modern wireless headphones! I know, I agree, I thought they were supposed to live a quiet, spiritual, humble life without material possessions! Apparently last year 300 out of the almost 62 000 Buddhist Monks were reprimanded – some were even removed from the monkhood. The offences range from alcohol consumption, having relations with women, even extortion! Thailand’s national Buddhism body is monitoring monks nationwide to make sure they abide with the principles of being a monk.... Read more
