Supermoon at Wandella

When the cloud got thin, I reached for my Sony A77, an extremely nice Christmas and early birthday present rolled into one.

Aperture, Shutter and ISO were set in a flash with the buttons and menu choices on the body. The 70-300mm lens and anti-shake were working well, but something didnt quite click (pardon the pun) and I couldnt secure that nice shot.

So, non-tech methods came into play to provide a steady base for me to prop my camera up. I used my concrete block retaining wall and a piece of split firewood to prop the camera in the right position. The A77 has a terrific mult-position flip out LCD screen that easily allowed me to set up the shot with the camera at such an awkward angle. I gotta get a tripod.

I took lots of shots, and flicked between ISO’s and Aperture settings. Eventually bagging the shot on this page.

I love photography. I dont know that much about Aperture, Shutter, ISO etc. but was able to Google some informationthat got me started quickly. This is where modern tech comes into its own. This is what it SHOULD do. Allowing someone who has a basic knowledge of a piece of equipment, to turn it on, configure it and meet a need in a reasonably quick time frame.

If the clouds clear, and I can get a clearer shot, I’ll post it asap.
