Batemans Bay “Boars” trial game this Saturday

Wednesday, 28 March 2012 11:54

Batemans Bay “Boars” Rugby Union team will play a trail games this Saturday at Hanging Rock Oval against the Bungendore “Mud chooks”. This will be the Boars final trial game before the South Coast Rugby season starts first week after Easter.

The Boars recently played 3 games in there annual 15-a-side knockout with plenty of experience gained by a number of new younger players. They performed well on the day and it has given Coach David Silversides a clearer picture on where some positions will be filled. Dave is hoping for a good roll up of players on the weekend to allow a good look at positions and combinations in preparation for this season.

Bungendore play in the ACT Monaro competition and have been very successful over the past few years including winning a premiership 2010. They have a good combination of youth and experience and should provide a good even match up for the South Coast 2011 Premiers Batemans Bay Boars.

Training numbers have been good for the Boars this season however the Club can’t stress strongly enough that new players are always welcome. If there are any players still wanting to register they are encouraged to come to Hanging Rock on Saturday, introduce themselves to the Coach or committee, and if ready, have there boots with them for a run. An early Kick off time is planned for 11.30am and players are asked to be at the ground by 10.30. Anyone wanting further information about the day can contact Peter Ryan 0402309623.
