Rally Brings Batemans Bay Business Boost

Batemans Bay business is tipped to boost when the Rally of the Bay comes to town.

For the weekend of August 31 and September 1 more than 1200 people are expected to flock to the bay for round three of the NSW Rally Championship.

Around 160 competitors are expected to take part this year bringing with them a welcome leg-up for local business during what is normally a lull in tourist numbers.

Call for 120kmh Zones Rejected

The NSW government is prepared to consider increasing speed limits on South Coast roads if it's deemed safe, Premier Barry O'Farrell sid. Roads Minister Duncan Gay has flagged raising speed limits by 5km or 10km per hour, if the roads meet certain standards.
