Club Grants Deadline Extended

Monday, 30 April 2012 20:56

BVSC The deadline for Club Grants  applications has been extended until Monday 7th May.

Registered clubs across the Bega Valley Shire continue to dig deep and support their local communities as part of the 2012 Club Grants program.

Chair of the Bega Valley Club Grants committee and manager of the Tathra Beach Bowling Club, Luke Ryan, said the funding was important across the shire and the committee was faced with some difficult decisions when it came to making recommendations to the various club boards.

The funding is provided by eight registered clubs across the Shire. They are the Eden Fishermen’s Club, Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club, Club Sapphire Merimbula, Merimbula RSL Club, Tura Beach Country Club, Bega RSL, Tathra Beach Bowling Club and the Bermagui Country Club.

Mr Ryan said all clubs welcomed the opportunity to give and the funding had a positive impact on the community.

Last year 33 local projects were successful under Category 1 of the program that supports projects contributing to the wellbeing of their communities.

Application forms can be accessed at Bega Valley Shire Council’s website www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au and more information is available from Council’s community development officer Emma Benton on 6499 2461 or at ebenton@begavalley.nsw.gov.au

Applications should be sent directly to Council and will be accepted up to COB on Monday 7 May.
